REME Engineering Cup competition launch

Sixth Formers had a ‘challenging’ afternoon on Wednesday 13 December attending the REME Engineering Cup Launch at MOD Lyneham.

Students got to explore a range of military helicopters, and even climb inside Lynx, Apache and Gazelle helicopters! They (carefully) handled a dummy SA80 rifle that they will be designing stowages for as part of this Engineering Cup challenge.

The annual competition gives the students a chance to problem solve and be creative to develop an innovative solution to current British Army equipment.

The competition will be judged in school in February 2024 with the finalists going forward to a grand final at MOD Lyneham in March to compete against other UTCs and Colleges.
