Year 13 students Renato, Toby and Mampaya have been selected to receive career mentoring with Hitachi after making a big impression at Gamechangers Programme Assessment Day.

Hitachi Capital’s Gamechangers Programme aims to get young people future-ready, targeting Year 13’s to help them access high-quality apprenticeships and unlock hidden pathways in financial services.

The UTC Swindon students were invited to the Insight and Assessment Day in Newbury and Trowbridge following their interest to learn more about the programme and its opportunities. At the Assessment Day, they further developed their knowledge and showcased their skills.

The students showed a level of engagement, understanding and enthusiasm for the content of the day, which was incredibly high, and they should all be extremely proud. As they showed the greatest potential, they will now be matched to a mentor at Hitachi Capital, who they will meet monthly for six months.

At the end of the mentoring and before A Level results day, selected students will be offered an apprenticeship starting September 2020.

Successful student, Toby, said: “I’m very pleased to have gotten this opportunity with Hitachi Capital because I feel like I have had a chance to prove myself and give myself the belief that I can do it.”

Well done to our amazing students who took part and once again, excelled. We look forward to your exciting next steps.
