Former UTC Swindon student, Oliver, secured an apprenticeship with a leading engineering company, Method Consulting, last summer.

Oliver said: “I was told about the position at Method Consulting by one of my teachers at UTC Swindon; I was interested in the CAD work I could get involved with there, as I enjoyed working with computers throughout my time at college and I wanted to further my knowledge in that area and look to potentially have a career within it.”

“At Method Consulting, my role is CAD Technician and I am responsible for making sure all project drawings are completed on time, before sending them on to clients.”

“So far my Apprenticeship experience has been great. I’ve learnt so much in such a short space of time and I thank my colleagues for helping me to develop my skills and I look forward to further development in the future.”

“I feel UTC Swindon definitely helped me to prepare for this apprenticeship. The working environment and projects I worked on helped me to learn what a career in engineering could look like.”

“I am looking to continue my development at Method Consulting and become a vital part of the CAD team. Beyond that, I would like to progress to Building Information Modelling (BIM) as that is something that interests me and could be a new challenge in my career.”

We wish Oliver the best of luck with the rest of his apprenticeship and his bright future.
