UTC Swindon looks to top destinations following exam success
UTC Swindon Year 13 students are ready to move on to amazing destinations as they celebrated a milestone today – picking up their A Level and Level 3 technical qualification results.
This year’s leavers from the STEM-specialist school are off to universities including University of Bristol and Bath Spa University, and some incredible apprenticeships at companies including Boeing and Ofcom and Ludlow Engineering.
UTC Swindon specialises in engineering, digital and cyber security, and this year’s exam outcomes reflect the hard work, technical talent and ambition of its students.
Technical subjects
- 100% of students passed their BTEC L3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Engineering
- 100% of students passed their BTEC L3 Esports
Next steps: Apprenticeships and university
Many students have successfully secured highly sought-after apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships with leading national employers.
Other students are celebrating offers from respected universities, including:
Birmingham, University of Lincoln and Cardiff University
Headteacher Hollie Taylor said: “I am so proud of all our students and the work they have put in to achieve these results and incredible destinations. Our STEM based curriculum has allowed our students to continue their studies or start some amazing apprenticeships. We wish every student all the best for the next chapter in their lives.”
Notable achievements
- Henry Caralho – Grade A in A Level Maths and D*, D* in BTEC Level 3 in Engineering going to study Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol.
- Scarlett Mee – D*, D*, D* in BTEC Level 3 in Engineering going to study Aerospace Engineering at the University of South Wales
Speaking on results day, Scarlett, who is heading to study Aerospace Engineering, said: “She cant wait to get started the next 4 years of her life”
All Year 13 students have successfully secured their next steps, but UTC Swindon continues to offer individual advice and guidance to anyone reconsidering their options or needing extra support after completing their studies.
