On Tuesday 23 October, fifty Year 11 students visited Gloucester University, as part of the Fantastic Futures Programme (Study Higher), to get a real insight into university life.

On arrival, students sat in on a talk that discussed how university differs from school, the range of subjects and courses available to them and what university life is like, including information on extra-curricular societies and sports teams they can join.

Current Gloucester University students then took the Year 11’s around the campus on a tour, with opportunities to ask any questions they had. They were shown the refectory, students union, lecture rooms and library, as well as the outside of the student accommodation.

Following lunch, the students were introduced to thinking about how to manage money through Mint or Skint? board game, which they played in small groups.

The students had a fantastic trip and came away with a good insight into university life. Thank you to the organisers of this trip.
