UTC Swindon runs practical workshops for September applicants

We were recently delighted to welcome students interested in joining us in September to an open day and practical workshop.

UTC Swindon’s open day was a great success, with students and parents being given the opportunity to tour the school and speak to students, staff and employers.

We were joined by representatives from BMW, Network Rail, Oxford Brookes University and The IET, who were available to speak to visitors about opportunities students have to work with them during their time at UTC Swindon.

Applicants for September also took part in an engineering activity. They were tasked with either making a mini spanner in the mechanical workshop, or making a timer circuit in the electronics lab. Engineering Teacher Tony Jordan commented: “The students worked really well to complete the task. Some had never soldered before but it was great to see they were not afraid to have a go!”

If you are interested in joining UTC Swindon in September, please submit an online application as soon as possible and a member of the team will be in touch.
