‘The best day we’ve had at the UTC so far’

This was the verdict from UTC Swindon students to the employability skills day, which was held for all year groups, on Monday March 21.

UTC Swindon welcomed ten different companies and offered a range of activities and events including well-being talks, industry insight talks, resilience talks, communication, team building, leadership coding, robotics, problem solving workshops as well as coaching, mentoring and mock interviews. 

Each student was scheduled and had engagement from a minimum of five different employers throughout the day, working with different peer groups and developing their soft skills which are beneficial for their futures.

The aim of the day was to highlight the importance of the soft skills through a range of activities – practical and theory based, which were led by the employers to engage, interact, inspire and challenge the students.
