On Monday 29 January, UTC Swindon held a Spotlight on Careers: Engineering event for 100 KS4 students.
The event saw employer partners, CH2M, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd and BMW presenting three ‘Educate and Inspire’ sessions.
These sessions gave the students the opportunity to hear from professionals about the industry they work in. They discussed career paths, the prospective careers available, along with skills and qualities needed to work within the industry. A showcase of work from their organisation was then displayed to the students, along with a small industry-based challenge.
The students engaged really well with the employers and the activities throughout the day.
