Prospective students tour UTC Swindon

UTC Swindon opened its doors on Saturday for the final Open Event of 2019, welcoming in prospective students and their families to explore the facilities and meet staff and current students.

Guests attended a welcome talk from Principal, Jon Oliver, in which he covered what a UTC is, as well as how the curriculum and culture of UTC Swindon differs from a traditional secondary school.

Facilities including the engineering workshop, the new cyber-security suite and computer labs were open with staff and current students on-hand to answer questions as visitors toured around.

Also exhibiting were industry partners BMW Mini and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as well students working on building kit cars as extra-curricular opportunities.

We would like to extend our thanks to all of the staff and students who made the Open Event possible and hope our guests found the morning informative and useful.
