Open Event Success at UTC Swindon

Yesterday saw UTC Swindon’s first Open Event of 2018 with Year 10 and 12 prospective students and their families attending the evening.

The evening consisted of current students taking groups of people on tours around our facilities, classrooms and workshops, while talking them through their experience at the UTC.

The event was a great chance for parents and students alike to ask any questions they had about the application process or the specialist curriculum the UTC offers.

After the tours, attendees gathered in the lecture hall for a talk from Jon Oliver, Principal, and Joanne Harper, Executive Principal. They discussed the recent introduction of the Digital Technologies specialism within the curriculum and the expectations of students.

Two of the UTC’s industry partners, BMW Mini, and Network Rail also attended the event, detailing some of the projects that students will get involved in throughout the year.
